Win by staying Positive

To win an election a politician must create this cloud of negativity, of fear, towards their opponents.  You do this by spreading false rumors, making false calls to constituents saying outrageous things, and making promises you can’t possibly keep.  Well, it’s a good thing I am not a politician, in fact I am a lousy politician.  I will not engage in that negativity that fuels hatred, that’s just not me.

It is also a good thing that I have my record to stand on.  I’m proven.  With me you won’t have to guess on what you are getting, you know.  I have no conflict of interests on the Board which is incredibly important.  I can vote on hiring, cutting, firing, etc. without any personal gain.

We have come a long way in cleaning up the problems in our system that we inherited and we have a long way to go.  But this cleaning isn’t popular with a few so we naturally have some resistance and opposition.  This results in the typical dirty politics we are used too unfortunately.

But I for one will stay positive.  By doing this, win or lose I still win.

As you know, the Bristol Herald Courier has been covering each candidate for both the City Council and Board of Education election.  It appears my time has come.  Please visit http://www2.tricities.com/news/2011/may/11/turner-seeking-second-term-ar-1030279/ .  I want to thank Roger Brown for taking an active interest in covering the Board of Education as well as the City Council.

Dr. Lilly Rumor

Posted by Tony Turner | Campaign Blog,My Blogs | Tuesday 10 May 2011 7:30 am

There seems to be a rumor being spread throughout the schools and community that the Board of Education wants to “Fire Dr. Lilly”.  Just so everyone knows, there has been no talk at any of our meetings to replace Dr. Lilly.  In fact, our meetings mainly involve helping develop our new director so that we can be the best system we can be.  Personally, I have a proven voting record of supporting Dr. Lilly, the teachers and the staff.  So forego the obvious political rhetoric and feel free to contact me with any concerns and questions about this or anything.
